One-step synthesis and structure of an oligo(spiro-orthocarbonate).
The reaction of pentaerythritol and tetraethylorthocarbonate at 260 degrees C for 12 h yields a white crystalline material that was characterized by 13C CPMAS NMR, CHN analysis, FT-IR, electron and X-ray powder diffraction, and Rietveld analysis. The white crystalline material was found to have the formula C6H8O4 and a crystal structure with a monoclinic cell [a = 9.167 A, b = 5.681 A, c = 5.88...
متن کاملRadical oxidative cyclization of spiroacetals to bis-spiroacetals: an overview.
The use of iodobenzene diacetate and iodine under photolytic conditions provides and efficient method for the oxidative cyclization of spiroacetals bearing an hydroxyalkyl side chain to bis-spiroacetals. An overview is provided of the use of this reaction for the synthesis of several bis-spiroacetal containing natural products such as the polyether antibiotics salinomycin and CP44,161 and the s...
متن کاملLewis acid-mediated radical cyclization: stereocontrol in cascade radical addition-cyclization-trapping reactions.
An efficient approach for achieving radical cyclizations by using hydroxamate ester as a coordination tether with Lewis acid was studied. The chiral Lewis acid-mediated cascade radical addition-cyclization-trapping reaction proceeded smoothly with good enantio- and diastereoselectivities, providing various chiral γ-lactams.
متن کاملMetal-free cascade radical cyclization of 1,6-enynes with aldehydes.
A new and efficient metal-free cascade cyclization of 1,6-enynes with aldehydes is developed for the synthesis of tricyclic fluorene derivatives. The reaction involves a radical process and one C(sp(2))-C(sp(2)) and two C(sp(2))-C(sp(3)) bonds are formed simultaneously in one pot by using PivOH and TBHP.
